Many moons ago, i used a local KF branch and asked to put 4 tyres on a Ford Sierra. I was in no rush and as it was local, said i would call back and pick the car up later in the afternoon.

I arrived earlyish afternoon and went to pay for the tyres, only to be told by the manager that they had to change the brake pads as the car was "unfit" to drive. I said i was not contacted about this and refused to pay and also asked to see the old pads. Manager said he would not release my car until bill was settled.

I went back home, phoned KFHQ and said if my car was not released forthwith, i would be contacting the police, local newspaper and trading standards. HQ said to go back to local branch and collect my car without paying for anything. I insisted on paying for the tyres (that is all i wanted) and have never been to a Kwik Kowboy Fit again!

Camping? You want me to go camping? Listen...My idea of "roughing it" is a night at a Premier Inn with no cable tv in it!

Paying to sleep outside .....Surely, that is an insult to homeless people?

As has been previously said , if you can go to your local council vehicle testing station, they don't do repair work so are not looking at anything other than what genuinely needs doing. I've used mine now in Denbighshire for a few years and only had a car fail once on some suspension bushes.
