I do on line banking, I bought an item online on 24th, today checking my account I find that the Nationwide have taken the amount twice.
This was on there web site.
Please note that debit card transactions from 24 July are showing again on customers accounts on the 25 July. We are aware of the issue and accounts will be corrected as soon as possible. We apologies for any inconvenience this has caused.
I have spoken to them, and if I go overdrawn I will not incur any charges, I hope not its their fault.
I had a similar thing happen to me a couple of weeks ago with my debit card account - two payments taken twice - ok only £30 in total, and as it was it didn't leave me short - but still bloody annoying.
I have had an issue with them where a DD was taken, then reutrned and then take again and there was no reason for it as money was in account. They were pretty good and I didn't get charged for anything.
I have been with nationwide for 12 years now and they are pretty good to be fair. Yes I know it is still annoying though but no technology is perfect
check bbc news, Apparently they managed to double up on payments by processing Tuesdays twice! I would be demanding a goodwill gesture a full explanation and reassurance or i would be off.
Banks need to learn that with out our oil their machine would run dry.
I've just checked and yes I've been effected.
However I do find Nationwide good to deal with - and like the idea of them being owned by their members, rather than the likes of Barclays & RBS.
