presume u mean SRJ debt recovery, they are firm of debt recoverers.

So am guessing there is an unpaid debt somewhere from a quick google they dont deal with just ebay, so maybe something else??

Google them and get an address and make them prove you owe the money, and to whom. Go on to MSE (money saving expert) site for a template of a prove it letter

seems SRJ buy old debts then chase in the hopes people will pay up. Most these debts are statue barred and there while still owed unenforceable to chase for them.

Maybe they are chasing you for a really old debt?

Or their other trick is just chase people with a similar name in hope they'll just pay to get rid of them

it's not a scam as such, they trace people who owe debts, like onlyme53 husband. They then send letter to everyone with that name in the hopes they'll get the right one and that person will pay up.

Not a scam just chancers, and there is ways to deal with them.
