I can't believe I have just said that, but it's true. Especially the equestrian sports were team GB have really excelled. I have watched every qualifier, team and individual event in Xcountry, Dressage & SJ and now I'm lost! Also watched rowing, gymnastics, swimming and the running about stuff and after this weekend it'll all be gone!

Ah well it was good, team GB have done brilliantly, the venues have been amazing and it looks like it has surpassed all expectations. The closing ceremony will actually be a bit sad

My poor chair will miss me!

Wendy - I'm with you - was cursing the Olympics before they started and just wanted them to be over, but I have really enjoyed them and love how our Lovely City has been portrayed.

the best thing is I have tickets for the Paralympics so hopefully the fun can continue!

Taken a step into the unknown with a full blown caravan. Done the towing course and packed him up. Now to the Weigh Bridge, before going on my first actual trip!

Can't wait for paralympics to start now too, I'll be watching Lee Pearson in the Dressage again, he is a total inspiration, he's already won over 20 gold medals. It will be tears again as I watch, yesterday I blubbed all the way through Charlotte's test, last in and she won gold!

We're normally away in the caravan at Olympic time, but have been home this year (heading off today) so I've really been able to get into it.

Enjoy your Olympic experience, I am sure it will be fantastic.

Wendy

I have developed a new addiction!!
I too wasn't too bothered before they started ( and I come from Stratford!!) I've watched everything! My children have become 'Olympic Orphans'!!!!! Every day has revolved around the schedule of events - I even did an online food shop for the first time in 6 years!!
I had to drive to York to drop off my stepdaughters on Tuesday - timed it to be back in time for the velodrome BUT my car went bang on the way back - as I sat waiting for assistance all I could think about was what I was missing ( Chris Hoy and Laura Trott) My phone had very low battery somI couldn't even watch on there!!

My youngest ( 3 hrs) has been poorly this week - and bless her watching Olympic everything with me!
Not even thought about what to do with dead car because I don't need to go anywhere!

As I read this back I sound so sad BUT I've have had a wonderful time. The luxury of being at home and having the freedom to just watch has been fabulous ( I teach - and am out of the house for an average of 65 hours each week) and a real bonus.
We camped for a few weekends just before the holidays and am hoping to get q couple of 3/4 nighters in before school again ( and work in preparation for it!!)

Go Team GB!!

Ruth

I hated all the pre Games hype, politics and commercialism but loved the sporting efforts of one and all. I shan't miss it though, two weeks of this every four years is enough. Still, there's the Paralympics and the Winter Olympics yet to come.

I will some of it but to be honest Why has the beach volleyball gone on sooooo long (and why is there both beach volleyball and volleyball - Windsurfing is going to be binned for kitesurfing)

The Beach Volleyball was on the 1st Saturday (we walked past and heard it) almost 2 weeks later its still on.  Too much.

Could have lost the football too - its on all year anyway and a bit tedious just after Euro/World Cup (whatever the latest one was)

What I would have loved would have been a hour slot for different sports in the evening so that I could have seen the dressage, cross country, road cycling that was on when i was at work.

No we had to put up with the same countless clips od what they see as important - we only have Freesat and Freeview and dont want to cane the broadband too much as we keep getting 80% useage messages.  Also the presenters banging on all the time did we need them all or did they just not get tickets and they could get paid and see the events.

Even if my hour catch ups were on the red button.  Not everyone can be at home all day.

I have seen the dressage clip of her pulling up and bowing her head loads but nothing of the rest of the routine and the music - what was it but the radio said trhe music during the dressage competition was amazing.

I loved the torch Relay too and wonder what early evenings will bring but at least Masterchef is back on Monday.

I too didn't think I would be bothered though I think a lot of my interest has been to do with how well team GB has done.   It is much more interesting watching an event that involves team GB and is doing well (even if they don't win a medal).

The TV has been on constantly, which it never normally is during the day. Enjoyed watching BBC1 as you get a bit of everything. Even enjoyed the boxing, which is something I NEVER watch normally.

Ewww Jeff watching men who like to smell funny and wear nylon, nah the Olympics is a big improvement.

Football needs bringing back to how it used to be, less money and more skill. The women footballers have been worth watching though, which was a big surprise!

Enjoyed watching the Brits do so well. Apart from dressage that is. Not a sport in my mind and some use cruel training methods.
Having said that I shall be glad when it is all over. The coverage has been tedious & boring in the repetition and the presenters asking the same question of athletes in about 3 different ways.

I'll be pleased when it's over, although I've enjoyed what I've seen and 'Team GB' has done a great job.

Still, we have Britain's Strongest man to look forward to. This does interest me because our local postie has recently won Scotland's strongest man and will be in the national heats.
