holidaylettings terms and conditions make it clear that they are not the representative of any advertiser, nor do they have responsibility for the quality, sufficiency, or, I suppose, the actual existence of any advertiser. Thus it suggests that your contract is with the holiday location and if that is the case then your contract may very well be subject to French law rather than UK law. If in doubt, where my money is concerned, I would stop the cheque and cancel the booking. However, if you do so then you may have a liability under French Law. You need to check the Holiday letting terms and conditions. If you are happy to be the subject of any penalty for cancellation e.g. lost deposit, then so be it. Phil
