I am considering studying for a degree with the Open University. While I have no doubt the OU would take me on as a student what I would like to know, if anyone could enlighten me is, realistically what are my chances of getting a tuition fee loan my concern is mainly my age (57). Thanks in anticipation.
I've been studying with OU since 2004, am 48, and have no realistic chance of paying back a student loan.
The rules seem to be that there are no age limits, and you don't need to expect to be able to pay it back. There are some rules - for example you will need to pass a module a year - but being part-time you will have 6 years to do it in instead of the 3 for full-time students.
Hi tweety,
good luck with your studies Be aware though that the student loan website must have to be one of the most user unfriendly ones I have ever had the misfortune to have to use!
