I tend to take what I am likely to cook while camping. Apart from a pack of 3 sieved tomatoes that I have yet to use, I believe I have used/eaten everything else I carry. DK

I love the fact that food has holidays too!
A bag of roti mix - always intend to have time to make them, fry them, and fill with something akin to goat curry, but never do. The packet is beginning to fall apart at the seams.
The tin of ham seems to have a few outings as well.
I always take too much - 'just in case'...

There was a thread a while ago about packet mash and I though it would be a goood idea to tray some and bought 2 packets of the thing but I just couldn't bring myself to mix it up let alone eat it, so it's stuck in the cupboard in the caravan

Every year I take a little bottle of basil dipping oil with every intention of getting crusty bread and sharing it with the friends we go with,I love it but nobody else wants to try it ,so I always bring it home, because if I started on my own I would not stop......Not good for the waistline a full bottle of oil

A bottle of Pimms! It travelled thousand of miles and was affectionately called the holiday Pimms! It did eventually get drunk.

A tin of new potatoes , god knows how many miles that tin has travellled with us, and I know it's been through two van changes too.

Packets of 'cup-a-soup' they seem like a good idea, a nice warming drink/food if it gets cold etc etc... The boxes come and go, getting more squashed and damp.
My mum and dad had a caravan, the first time they used it they took all the their food and did eat it, the following year they took all their food, realised how good european foodstuffs were, brought it ALL back... along with groceries from, France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy.. But we weren't ALLOWED to eat it, it was special occasions only.. The adults in the 70's we a weird bunch. They learned and never took anything again and always filled the 'van for coming home. But I do recall Findus dried peas.

From the very first time (5 yrs ago) we went out in our van we have carried a fray bentos pie, used to be a chicken and mushroom one that came home with us, went back to the van, came home with us again and went back to the van, came home with us..........you get the picture.
At the beginning of our trips out this year I noticed OH had changed it for a fray bentos steak and ale pie, so I asked why?? the answer was, 'I fancied a change' 'but we never ate the last one' I said. 'Thats because I forgot it was there' OH said.
'So do you want one tonight for dinner' I asked, 'God no, cant stand the stuff' was the answer.
Guess what I noticed is in the box to take down to the van ready for our trip out next weekend.
YES A Fray Bentos Steak & Ale Pie !!!!!!!
