How about Wigwig between Telford and Much Wenlock
Haha, I went past that lot en route to North Wales. In fact, there were loads of silly sounding place names in Shropshire! I thought it was Wigwag though.
There's a station on the Manchester - Clitheroe railway route called Hall I' Th' Wood - with the apostrophes! And how about Slaithwaite - pronounded 'Slough-it' (slough as in plough).
Our favourite was always Pant - on the England/Wales border - still makes my daughter laugh and she's 20!!
A member of the family used to live in a place called Humpty Doo in the Northern Terriitories in Australia, to remember it we used to call it Humpty dumpty land, until my daughter told the teacher, that her cousins lived in Humpty dumpty land, and was accused of lying. I made sure I went to explain to the teacher.

Short for Hall In The Wood, the actual building being an early 16th century half-timbered manor house where Samuel Crompton invented the Spinning Mule in the 18th century.

My Hubby had a t shirt with" I've been up the Devil's Arse" Printed on the back. Purchased from Peak Cavern (the Devil's Arse) caves, in Derbyshire.
I can not begin to tell you how much amusement this caused.
