Hi all, we recently cancelled our sky subscription and bought a samsung smt-s7800 freesat box. I'd like to tune it to get Motors tv but don't know how, can anyone advise please?

You can't easily. It's a FTV station so needs a Freesat from Sky card and a Sky receiver or suitable non Sky receiver and maybe a CAM. I see the Samsung has a CI+ CAM slot so maybe able to use a Freesat from Sky card and a Diablo CAM, but it it would require a programmer, so all in about £175 on top of the Samsung.

Or use the old Sky box and card and get Motors for free for now.

what's a CAM please? bear in mind that I'm not technically minded!!

i don't really want to wire in the skybox again for 1 channel, it's just 1 program on motors tv once every blue moon

Conditional Access Module. A credit card sized card (similar to a PCMCIA card that used to be used in laptops) which fits into the receiver, into which a Freesat from Sky card (or other) would fit. CAM need to be programmed with firmware and the Sky card need to be updated in a Sky receiver about every six weeks.
