It has just been on our Local news that several schools in Derbyshire are using CCTV in the changing rooms and toilets,This can't be right can it, what are your views on this ?.
------------- Exercise every day and Die Healthy....
Its like anything else, if its done right then there shouldnt be a problem.
Unfortunately there are people who think that everyone is out to get them, or have something to hide. Cameras are everywhere these days, we have to accept it and move on.
I have a mate who installs cameras for a living, he reckons that most systems cannot be accessed by anyone outside the authorised users of the individual systems, as all persons within schools etc are vetted then there shouldnt be any risk to anyone.
These systems are in place for the protection of everyone, not the exploitatiom of the vulnerable.
------------- Never look down at anybody....
.....unless to offer a hand, to help them up
I also agree with it. It's a case of 'If you're not doing anything wrong, then it shouldn't bother you' BUT anything that helps to stop bullying, stealing, even drugs, I'm all for it.
They have cameras in our daughters school which came in handy when one of her friends was punched by another girl and it was used in evidence for the police. We also have them in the toilet area showing the wash basins where I work. You just accept they are there and forget about them.
Our son was going through the other boys pockets and bags for money when at school. He admitted this to us but the school didn't want to know and basically accused us of lying. CCTV would have been very handy.
------------- If you see a family struggling to put up the tent then it must be us!
I agree in placing them in washroom areas, obviously not in the cubicles.
Bullying often takes place in these areas, and with restricted staffing these places can not be monitored.
If it is used appropriately,I see no reason to oppose it.
------------- One day your life will flash before your eyes, make sure it's worth watching
the school I worked at had cameras everywhere, except actually in the changing rooms, there was no where suitable to place them, but they did cover both entrances to them.
they were used frequently for "he did this, they did that" arguments, and on one occasion a group of lads deciding that fireworks in a toilet bin would be a good idea.
They are in more and more pub toilets now, big brother is indeed watching..,.
They also discourage smoking and drugs.
The use of drugs in pub toilets is widespread and even sainsburys has the blue lights in their toilets so they have trouble finding veins around here
------------- Dogs die in hot cars!
They also die if you leave them in the freezer.
Please keep your dogs at room temperature!

Morrisons have had these for some time now.
still not sure if I like all these things watching, and keeping tabs on us 24/7, but at the end of the day, if it provides protection, if not for me, then my kids as a deterrent, or assistance if the worst does happen, then I can tolerate them.
