Hi all you fishermen (and women) i havent used one of my reels for a while and on cast out the line is spooling off in rings, is there any way to get the line back to "normal spooling" ie in a straight line on casting, as tight wad here doesnt want to get rid of what is good line realy cheers, rolls
Try winding the line from your reel onto an empty spool(an old one that the line comes on from the shop)Once on the old spool rewind it back on to your reel using thumb pressure on the spool(pencil through middle of spool) Or as I do run the line from the spool through the middle pages of a heavy book...This tensions the line as it goes back on your reel...Should stretch the line a bit and counter any memory loss the line has suffered...Also try and fill the reel right up to the lip avoiding over filling...The reel should have an indication of line capacity printed on it somewhere...
Sometimes hard to judge...But an under/over filled reel can cause the problems your describing...
