My first dog Pepper was absolutely petrified on bonfire night (and for the couple of weeks beforehand!) I have a photograph of her taken with headphones on (the big type), it did the trick for a while. We ended up resorting to sedatives as it was awful to see how distressed she was, they did the job with no ill effects. Never heard of these thunder vests.
