Hi I repair them things to check,
are the spray arms going around? put them in the twelve o`clock position and start the machine, after its been running open the door and see if they have moved.
are you using a multi-function tablet? if so DONT add rinse aid, the tablet contains rinse aid, if you add rinse aid as well it will create foam, depending on the type of dishwasher you have it can cause loads of problems, some manufacturers have a setting which allows you to turn off the rinse aid dispenser.
all ways use a cleaner as previously mentioned,
remove as much debris off plates before putting them into the dishwasher. Its not a waste disposal unit
if you load dishes into it in the morning after breakfast and again in the evening before putting it on are you doing a rinse only? you should, food deposits from breakfast pots can dry on and become difficult to remove the worst offenders are egg, bran type cereals and potatoe

Can I ask a question? Our dishwasher runs for a few minutes and then turns itself off, without having done any thing. I can hear water going in but it must just drain away as it isn't there when I open the door. OH wants to buy another one, but I would rather see if this can be repaired. I have tried al; the programs but nothing makes any difference. I have also cleaned everything . Should I just bite the bullet and buy another one or get someone in the fix it?
Thanks.
