I don't think the situation will improve by changing how or where we buy our meat. I do believe the situation could be improved by us all stopping buying the processed rubbish and leaving it on the shelves. A joint of meat is a joint of meat no matter where it's bought but a processed meal will contain as many cheap ingredients as the processor can get away with and as long as we buy it they'll keep making it. All they're after is profit and they seem to have reached a point where they can't play the game by the rules any more.
It would be nice if we all bought everything we need from a local Butcher shop but I fear the damage was one many years ago when everyone ran off to the supermarket and I don't see that situation ever reversing but we can improve the quality of what we buy even if we have to buy a little less and waste a lot less........

I agree..
But unfortunately, other than maybe a few more regs' and checks, long term I can't see peoples' eating habits changing that much..
..not when they keep convincing themselves that they "can't afford to eat properly" ..(....and yet strangely they still seem able to pay out for the likes of their smart phones,Sky TV packages, replica football shirts for their kids etc!? )
They don't value food enough..they want "cheap"...so it's not suprising when they end up with "cheap 'n' nasty"!
