Actually, Tracy, youre location says wigan but i bet really its something like Hindley Green or Golborne which is nearer to Leigh, just like mine really,as we come under Warrington but we're much posher than that in Lowton.

How right you are! Abram actually. Now I know you're from Lowton I'll be sure to show you more respect ... what with your Cheshire address! After all when a village's 2nd main arterial route is called sl*g Lane its bound to develop a sense of grandeur!

I always clear the pavement outside my house & further along but I can't do the whole street. The worst aspect of a town after the snow has been around a while & thaws then freezes is the foot paths. If they are cleared of snow promptly the surfaces dry out & are safe to walk on. Any able bodied person who argues with that is plain lazy imho.
Ah well as long as its ok for you able bodied folks!
Oh no have to catch up with that one. My parents moved to Shepton Mallet from London in 1962, after the winter that followed they very nearly moved back!!!!!
We have been out driving around today, quite responsibly and on clear roads in a 4 X 4. It has been glorious, nothing on the roads, field after field of virgin snow, numerous dear standing out like a sore thumb.

I wouldn't admit to living in Wigan or Warrington <img align="absmiddle" src="forum_images/smiley2.gif" width="17" alt="17">
Well, don't blame you ... we're all pies and mills here. Only got electric a couple of years ago. However can't think of anything to credit Warrington with - they've had an identity crisis since they were moved from Lancashire to Cheshire but always have a bit of Merseyside thrown in!
But with you Yorkshire folk ..... well you flat caps and whippets say it all!

so Tracy, all this snow that fell in Wigan, did it fall in Wigan or did it fall in Abram?
Although, we almost moved to Abram. There's some nice houses just been built. It was the thought of a Wgan postcode that put me off.
I know .... those Wigan postcodes make all the difference don't they? 3 miles from Lowton and houses are 50k cheaper but without the East Lancs road noise.
