OH used to be a car salesman yes sorry to have to admit it but he was, Honda,Mitsubishi,Toyota Mazda no problems driving about. He then went and worked for an independent prestige car company we had Porches,Ferrari Rollers, Aston Martins (our own use) the list goes on but this was 17yrs ago.
But my one observation was if you were in any sort of 'perceived' prestige car, no one and I mean no one let you out of any junction etc. But as none of them were our cars and we drove them normally (debatable I know) and we gave way to other drivers etc, they looked at us as though we were in a space ship from Mars!
We now have come down to earth with a Renault and a Volvo, and yes he does drive his Volvo in typical Volvo style, middle lane with a hat on, but he is retired now so he is allowed to allegedly.
How things change as you grow older!

Can't beat a red one. Had an MGA before the 70 M PH spead limit was introduced. Great days they were very dissapointed if on some places couldn't reach 90mph. WG

But what make/model of car can I buy so as not to become the butt of comments like these on here?!
We've had all sorts of company cars, including BMW, Audi, volvo. Our own choice was always Vauxhall, I had an Astra hatchback for 11 years, when I changed it for an Astra estate I gave the old one to S, and at the time OH had an Astra estate company car. Our drive looked like the Vauhall owners club! My Astra estate travelled thousands of miles round Europe with a tent in the back.
Since then we have had a Porsche, a Touran, a collection of small foreign things. Finally we are settled with a VW camper and a Honda Jazz. Which I must defend by the way, it's interior must have been designed by a woman, it has so many crafty bits. And although we tend to keep to the speed limit, we don't drive slowly.
The kids keep up with the posers though, D and SIL have 2 BMW's, and S has a V8 merc.
