Just off the subject but still about driving in bad weather, the other day on Radio 5 Live there was a man on from the AA or RAC, and Rachel Burden was interviewing him about driving on icy roads in bad weather, at one point during the interview she asked what was the best way to stop the car when it's icy "by just slamming on the breaks" was her suggestion! The man was very tactful with his reply but what on earth was going through her head - stupid woman!!

I approached a set of traffic lights just as they turned to red this morning and therefore stopped. On the other side of the road, a van approached and stopped too. He had cleared his windscreen, but not the roof, so consequently all the snow on his roof slid off onto his windscreen. He tried to put his wipers on, but the weight of the snow was too much for them, and they hardly moved. So, please don't forget to clear your roof as well as your windscreen.......(not that anyone on here would faild to do so I am sure)

he??

Quite right ldpdmp...I stand corrected...At no time in any way is the gender of the driver disclosed in that article....I made an assumption...And you know what happens when you assume...You make an ass out of u and me...I Apologize unreservedly.....

Lets just call the driver IT....as in Idit...

advice on bbc breakfast last week was "press the break hard and keep it on". Unbelievable rubbish.
