You could try your local social services for their advice, they may arange a OT assesment for you mil to see what would be the most suitable, some may have weight restrictions or not be height adjustable, whilst others may only have single motor mecanisms for back rest only, or preset positions. They may also offer some financial assistance to get a better more siutable bed that may otherwise be out of your price range.
There are also considerations to be made regarding any pressure care your mil may need either now or in the future, and some of the cheaper beds may not offer this facility in their mattresses.
Finally, dont be tempted to buy off line without first trying the bed out for comfort. I made that mistake with a reclining bedchair a few months ago, having been highly satisfied with other products from the same company, I ordered my new chair online to save some money, only to find it was too big to fit my size, and i sat awkwardly in it, resulting in a sacral pressure sore which was very painful. I ended up spending the money i had saved in the deal in buying a memory foam topper for it, and im now sa ing up again to buy another chair that fits me better and is more comfortable.

Hi Jellboy53 Crafmatic ceased trading about 4 yrs ago- warranties etc taken over by Adjustamatic beds. I had purchased two single beds with all the facilities you mention .Had them 6 years now with no problems, except I needed a firmer mattress. I found the ones in Premier Lodge suited me fine so got the details off them and ordered a mattress. Problem sorted-cost near £1000 new for the 2 delivery setup etc included and still going strong dragongirl
