I'm so sorry to read the news of Paul. In a way I'm sure our loved ones don't want us there in their last moments. You have taken great care of him, how much you adore him shows through all the messages on here. Right now everything is so raw, just take it easy for you.
Big hugs. xxx

This thread has reduced me to an absolute wreck, brought back memories of a brilliant man I was proud to have known, who was taken from us in jan 2007.
Lorraine my heart well and truly goes out to you, and to all the others who have lost loved ones to this horrible horrible illness.

Only just read this thread, I lost my Dad to throat cancer last Valentines day, may sound strange but in the end it was a relief to see my best mate & hero destroyed by this curse the way he was, was soul destroying. I missed being there at the end , my brother phoned me & said he thought I should come right away, I probably broke most of the rules in the highway code but half way there I just stopped smiled then sat crying. A minute later I got a call saying don,t rush he's gone. The thing is, when I got there his face was peaceful for the first time in weeks & I actually felt a sense of relief that his pain & frustration were over. I still miss him at the strangest of times, I hear some one say something that reminds me of him or I go some where & realise we had been there, (mainly pubs) only tonight, went to my Mums for my sisters birthday & the lights in Dads "den" were off. As said many times, remember the good times, don't be afraid to talk about him or cry for him but most of all love him & his memory for yourself & your family. Sorry if this is rambling but I don't know any other way to say it. God bless.

Thank you all for your kind words. Not a day goes by when I don't think about Paul. This time of year was his favourite getting ready to go camping, he absolutely loved it and he was a professional gardener this would of been his busiest time. He lived very close to you Cliff and Pat did all the parks/cemetories around Salford. X
