Last week here as well, I too want to go to Chester zoo now someone's mentioned it! Mum, me and daughter went to Liverpool last Monday shopping - she was the only school child about - which was very weird - obviously no other kids from Wales over there that day.
Ours are almost too old now but I still take hols off - it's lovely not having any stress...enjoy it all you lot because the time goes quick!

We are going to Willow Lakes in North Lincolnshire for 4 nights in a cottage, its a cl site as well and a few freinds are meeting us, they are camping though(crazy people). I can`t wait, although its a cottage I feel that it will be the nearest I can get to being my first camp of the year.
Oi. We're not crazy We're going to feel really sorry for you being stuck in a brick tent while we enjoy the luxury of canvas. If you are very good though we might let you sit in one of the tents for a little while
You better do, I need my first fix of the year, that lovely smell of canvas brick just don`t have the same smell,
We are on half term this week too. We went swimming on Monday, the NEC show on Tue (fab day out), build-a-bear for DD1 friend's birthday party on Wed, DD1 had football today and tomorrow and then the grande finale is DD2 birthday party on Saturday
Enjoyed the half term but the house is in chaos as for some reason I can't seem to function with my normal routines when all four children are at home! Next week will be getting house back to order and finding homes for the birthday gifts....might even get the chance to look through the bits and bobs re campsites both European and UK that I picked up on Tue lol x
We have had a lovely time this half term - the weather has really helped. Took Alice and her friend to a park yesterday and they had a great time playing with the dog.
Only hiccup was Wednesday when Alice went out for 10 mintues to see one friend and went to another and didn't come back until later on - we were meant to be going to the pictures. Although I wouldn't tell her, it wasn't that bad, because it was chaos for the film that we wanted to see (Wreck it Ralph).
I might do the Safari park later today - will see how the weatehr is.
We took the little ones to the monkey forest in trentham gardens (stoke) and they loved it (even though they kept saying the fat one looked like daddy...) - highly recommended!
My son has been off this week but as my work load was the same this week as all the other weeks and I am not allowed holidays in term time he has been at home with Daddy.
They went to York one day, had a friend round another, he has been at a different friend's all day today and him and Daddy chilled at home the other two days
I used to enjoy the holidays but couldn't wait for the kids to go back. But due to circumstances we started to home educate our 3 boys last year. I now love having them home and it is great to just be able to go out or away when we fancy.
However daughter is still at school and mid exams so we have to leave her behind each time which isn't much fun for her.
It is term break here too as we are also Kent but daughter has had to go into school every day due to the overload of work the poor kids have to do. Looking forward to the Summer when we can hopefully get away together.
------------- If you see a family struggling to put up the tent then it must be us!
The thing I enjoy the most about school holidays is not having to drag them out of bed, nag them to get dressed and then drag them down the road to school, all time to repeated calls of "why?' and 'muuuum, I don't want to go to school".
They're 3 and 6, I have to smile at how many years schooling they have ahead of them and yet they're already "sick of it"!
We went to London for a few days earlier this week as a birthday treat for eldest son, went round the Cutty Sark (they loved that), National Maritime Museum (not so much), London Eye (loved it but were bored by the time it ended), River boat trip (moaned the whole time apart from the fast bits) and the Emirates Cable Car (best bit of the whole holiday apparently).
Youngest son picked up a tummy bug while there so we've been incarcerated the rest of the week.
