There are so many wastes of time on eBay. And you can't even leave them negative feedback so non payers get away scotfree. Even if you open the dispute the non payer gets away with it. Nothing happens. All that happens is that you get your fees back and then have to relist it.
I could ban the woman that didn't pay/ turn up from bidding again on any of my auctions but she's still free to bid on anything again even though it turned out she was a serial non payer!
Not totally right, if you report them they'll get a strike on their account, strikes seriously affect your buying as many sellers have preferences set to stop buyers with strikes from bidding, Three strikes and your suspended or banned..and just opeing another account doesn't always work as you find your IP number banned.

Well the lass that mucked me about is still mucking people about on eBay even though she's been reported by various people several times after I reported her and she had been reported several times before as well (but due to the policy of eBay not allowing you to neg a buyer I didn't at first notice that) so I don't think that actually happens in reality.

I am starting to wonder if Im being messed about by another ebayer. Sold a vacuum cleaner as well, buyer has been in touch to ask if she can collect over the weekend. I replied, giving address and phone number, not heard any more since. I cant believe these people have the nerve to treat sellers like this. I would be scared of going against a deal in fear of the comebacks, like neg feedback and strikes against me. It doesnt seem to bother some people. But if Im bidding on something, Im bidding because I genuinely want the item for sale, not to have a laugh at someone else' expense.

Tommorow lunch time, I will be starting proceedings against this woman who allegedly bought my bunks. Ive sent her a final message giving her till saturday noon to reply. I think Ive been more than obliging, she's had nearly a week to reply.

It is frustrating when people don't keep their half of the bargain.

But it can be just as annoying for the buyer also. I won a bid 2 weeks ago. I paid instantly through paypal, after checking my account several times it remained unclaimed. I got message from seller asking why i had not paid, i  told him  that i had made payment asked him to check with paypal why the payment was not going through, i also contacted ebay who confirmed his email wasn't correct and payment wouldn't process because of this.

Ebay told  me to cancel payment which i did as a new invoice would have to be issued when he had corrected email address, he told me it had been corrected  so i made a new paymment and stiill same happened again.

I sent messages and ebay gave me his phone no so i rang, no answer, so i left messages to ring me as ebay sent him my phone no. Still no repy.

Next he issues  me with non payment, i was assured by ebay this would not go on my account because this was not my fault, they said to request a new invoice from seller via paypal account with correct email. I did this twice. Because today is  the deadline for paying, he has withdrawn from the transaction.

Ebay have cleared the non payment claim so that is ok. I am wondering if he expected more money and this was his way of getting out of the sale, if that is the case he should have put a reserve on it.

I am so annoyed as it has wasted so much time and effort just trying to pay for this item.

Well i have got that one off my chest. Sorry for the rant.

Marilyn

My son has sold some furniture on ebay, bloke paid over a year ago for them, never collected them or replied to emails, the tables were over £50, my SIL also sold furniture and they paid instantly that was 6months ago, still not collected or responded to emails etc.

Very bizzare!

dazson..I think you are right about the seller wanting more money and putting barriers in your way and making out its your fault.
Certainly sounds like a bit of a wide boy, there are loads on Ebay now unfortunately.

VangoMan02

It will be interesting to see if he relists this and also puts reserve on it. eBay say that they have had complaints against him for lack of response also they have sent messages themselves with same problem.
He has no feedback Pos or Neg, so I can't understand why eBay have done nothing about it knowing what he is like!

Exactly..Ebay appear to let dodgy people deal for longer then they should, considering they have several complaints against the person.I have also experienced these problems from sellers.

I'd ask Ebay if it would be acceptable to send the buyer a message through Ebay giving them 48 hours to contact you or you'll assume the right to sell the item to someone else. Also tell them you'll be leaving a negative feedback if they don't get on the case.

I fell foul of a no show buyer years ago on there & now I always list conditions giving the buyer set time to pay a deposit if applicable and the item to be paid for and collected within 7 days unless an agreement has been made between me and the buyer.
