A general covering of about 8 inches here in Derbyshire, with drifting of about 5ft deep in places, not much sign of the grit lorries either, and its still snowing heavily.

It snowed heavily here last evening though it had stopped by this morning, got six or seven inches now and a bitterly cold wind but at least it's thawing off the roads

We finally had a snowfall on Friday night, just a covering really, and the roads were clear as we went down the hill. However on my train journey from Manchester to London, there was snow lying all the way, right until the last few minutes before we got to Euston. Flurries of damp snow in London Sat and Sun, then snow lying all the way home tonight. None in Manchester though, or up here, it's very dry, and that freezing cold wind blowing.
We've got loads. FIL was out at 4am this morning clearing the lane with a tractor and the loader but OH, son and FIL had to go dig out the road again and tow the milk tanker so he could get to pick up our milk at 8.30am this morning. Last night they went and tried to tow a corn lorry out of a drift but failed, it's still stuck, hopefully he'll get pulled out of it tomorrow. OH and daughter went and rescued a little old lady (she was off out to Ashbourne to buy some bread!) and the vet (on her way to our farm) from a snowdrift on Friday. FIL had to tow out a neighbour this afternoon (had decided to go get some shopping) Some of the lanes round us are level with the hedges at the minute, not worth risking unless you've got a 4x4 at least.
Most of what we had round here has gone now, none on the pavements except where it's been piled up outside people's driveways and all roads clear and dry. The only places it's lying are gardens and grassy areas.

All ours has now gone - it was horrible wet slush stuff - couldn't even make a snowman with it.
However as Richard was driving home from work (four miles away) the local Matrix Board was giving a severe weather warning, and looking at the forecast we could be in for more.
Snow, what snow
Made sure my three choices of sledges were all in fit working order, waxed up the runners "but no" Wye , has had nothing, a sugar dusting last time not really snow as far as I'm concerned.
seen the news , seen the pictures , reading the posts on here it doesn't seem real.
Hope you are all keeping wam.

Our roads all seem ok now, it is melting but slowly. We have 3' piles all around our estate wher we cleared it. I can see flooding soon. Feel sorry for farmers who need to get crops in.

Well it looks like we could be in for some more here soon, there are odd little white bits drifting around in the breeze. Keeping my fingers crossed that my break in North Wales isn't scuppered.
