They have shortened the distance at the start, hoping to avoid, "The charge of the Light brigade"
I do like watching the National,. but I do get upset, when horses are either, injured or killed.
Size of the fences remain the same. The difference is, that they are not solid. They should be able to go through them, rather than falling when clipping the fence.
Hopefully, it will still be challenging, and safer.
apparently Ginger McCain helped with the suggestions for the modification, and is trying out the new course, with a couple of his race horse.
