I have worked this event many times as a st john volunteer. Firstly the event is fantastic and the atmosphere is brill, however I have been up to my ankles in mud more times than I care to remember

We went to Upton Blues Festival last year, it was a brilliant weekend. Because of heavy rain in the weeks previous, they had moved the camping field to the edge of the town.

I've been to the jazz festival on and off for years - my friend and I are camping this year (our annual weekend away, my husband won't come with me!) and hoping it isn't as wet as last year as, while we didn't go, it looked like a quagmire! It is a fab wee festival and the fishmeadow isn't bad for camping on - if it gets really bad the committee will likely move people on to other sites anyway - give it a shot and take your wellies :)

Hi rabbitboy, that's spooky, I just noticed that on the jazz festival website although it looks like the camping and car parking will still be on Fishmeadow so will pack my wellies just in case!

Discussed it with DS, who had a lucid moment and suggested that, at first, we just buy a day ticket for the Saturday (can't take him out of school on the Friday). As we only live 20 mins away it won't be a problem getting there. If we really enjoy it we can go for the weekend next year.
