Our new puppy chewed the edges of the seats close to the floor in our brand new caravan. We were around at the time but just didn't notice. We caught her before she did much damage but it was so annoying. She slept in a cage at night.

Should I be letting him out to pee and poo in the night? The night we slept through he was sitting in his own doings! Also when I go to work I've been told I should leave him in the cage. I haven't because again he pees and poos on the kitchen floor so if he did that in the cage he'd be sitting on it!

Betty pup was only 12 weeks old when she had her first time in the caravan, she loved it and we are looking forward to taking her back. Was easier to toilet train her there than here where we live in a first floor flat. Can't say I worry too much about chewing, if I see her she is discouraged but we have a shabby chic approach to decorating LOL

Mollie who is getting on is less easy to manage as she has to get up several times at night and has to be reassured everything is OK as she is a bit deaf and can't see so well and a little confused at times. But she enjoys the van too.

We only use a crate at home when we are both working (about an hour a day) and that's just to keep Mollie safe as Betty likes to play and wears her out if unsupervised.

Well we are home and the dog was fantastic in the van. Weed in the awning twice but that was our fault for dithering! No fuss at night. Thanks for all the advice and support. He loved being with us and all the walks. Hope you all had a great Easter.
