We have a strict routine of turning the fan heater off if the kettle goes on. APart from tiny TV, we don't have anything else on electric so usually manage OK.
I really don't understand people who think they can have a home from home on a campsite with no problems for themselves or others.
My routine too - turn one thing off before I turn another one on, it can save a load of hassle.
Back in November/December 2008 I was with my now-ex on a CS site in what were (then) the coldest temperatures for many years; the pitch next to ours was occupied by a late 50's couple in a motorhome who would go out about 8.30am and return each evening at 7pm. During the day the electrics would work fine with no problem but within five minutes of them returning in the evening the whole lot would blow - it happened too many times to be coincidental so they must have been turning everything on as soon as they got back.
The year before last I was on my favourite site in Wales over the early May bank holiday, and though the days were very sunny and warm the nights were very chilly, and about 8.30 every evening the power would go off. I don't think that was down to just one person using a lot of stuff though, I think everyone was putting heaters on because it was so cold.

We also use EHU all the time, but as a rule we never have the low wattage fan heater going the same time as the kettle.
Always have fridge plugged in and never have to turn the or fridge off when using the kettle or heater.Never tripped anything out yet.
Some people are so selfish, this is another reason why we also use C&C Club sites.Unruly campers are not tolerated.

The point is,
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ONE UNIT TO OVERLOAD A WHOLE ROW.
Each EHU has a 16A breaker. You can take 16 Amp no more, if one unit taking 16Amps trips the whole row, THE SITE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS AT FAULT, not the users

Interesting, we stayed on a Camping and Caravan Club main site a couple of weeks ago and the electric went off at least 3 times every evening. An added problem was that the site manager did not know that it had gone off so I had to knock on their door each time as I could not leave OH without the mini fan heater on as he is disabled and needs the chill off. At bed time we turn the fan heater off and use a mini rardiator on lowest setting. We only used this one appliance and the group we were with are very sensible and use the one appliance rule all the time. Some had televisions but very few.
The site manager said it was usually people's water heaters that are the final straw. But we have never had this problem with any other site. I did get a bit annoyed as we only went on this trip because it meant I could have a small heater on in the evening.
I hope they get it sorted and had not realised it was a site electrical problem and not just usage by individual campers.
