As the title may suggest, I had a dopey moment in Manchester before.

I ended up going down a 'one way except buses' street earlier on and it was dark so the fact that I didn't see a giant camera flash makes me think that I've got away without a punishment. However, now that I'm thinking about it more I'm starting to worry myself. Does anyone know the standard penalty for this sort of thing . . . If there is one. I've read that it could be the usual £60 cut down to £30 if you pay within such a time but I've also read that it could be 3 points!

Has anyone else done this??

You will be hanged drawn and quartered and then stretched on the rack until you are in a great deal of pain. You may then be hanged by the neck until you are very poorly indeed (since this country abolished the death penalty a while ago for reasons which escape me), but on the other hand you could get a 60 quid fine and 3 points! There is a chance that there was no film in the camera (because it costs plod a fortune) so you may even get away scot free (who was scot and how did he get away with it?? In any event nobody died so why worry!

Me too, I go in on the tram! Used to drive in sometimes to the theatre, following my friends directions, but it was a hassle, finding somewhere to park too. D lived near Castlefield for a while, I got the hang of that coming off the ring road, and they had a parking space for me.

Ha ha, that one I agree with

Strayed into a bus only lane in Shipley a couple of weeks ago and some jobsworth told me I'd get a £60 fine, or £30 if paid promptly. No mention of points.

Nothing in the post yet, and the V5 shows our current address, so I'm hoping the camera had no film in it, or card, or whatever (do they still use camera food like that - these days you'd think it'd log it online?)

Well hopefully it will just be a fine, it's my own stupid fault, I did see a sign but only after it was too late to stop and do a left instead, only it wasn't lit up and it was about 4 foot off the ground on top of a bollard so not exactly an obvious road sign.

Let the waiting game begin I suppose . . .

£30 with no points if paid within a time limit.  my son was done in manchester a few months ago for same thing outside train station.   he didnt even go all the way down the street, he realised what he had done and backed up into side street.  17
