Absolutely love my iPad. Big one. Never used a small one, they do look rather cute though. I suppose it depends on what you're intending to use it for.
For web browsing I like the big screen but maybe if it's just emails or music then the smaller one would be ok.
Friend of mine bought a samsung and took it back once she'd had a play with my iPad. No idea why though.
The best bit I love about my iPad is that it connects with my laptop and iPhone so everything done on any device is accessible with the other ones.
Maybe go into a store and pick things up so you can get a better feel for them?
My only experience of Samsung is in our local Thomas Cook who use them for e-brochures and finding holidays.
Compared to an ipad the touch screen response is patchy, the interface for entering data is clumsy and the overall experience is not as intuitive as Apple products.
For "work" if work involves editing documents or spreadsheets I would say neither. 10" netbook or windows tablet (I presume) is much much more useful.
I am on iPad now, it's handy for browsing, reading email etc, but if I need to do work I switch to netbook as there are lots of things I can't do on this thing, and I can type much much faster on the netbook keyboard and it doesn't continually second guess and autocorrect which is even more painful in a work environment with lots of TLAs and specialist words.
I loathed my IPad come the end, Apple cease to offer compatible updates after a couple of years and it completely screwed my device because it had insufficient ram to run it.
The keyboard sucked big time.
My Note has changeable keyboards, the screen is not patchy at all, it responds well to touch all of the time. It supports flash and you can go back to previous android updates unlike Apple, unless you jailbreak it.
Half the price too, and in 2 years' time it won't be crippled and broken by its manufacturer. What's not to like?
We have an iPad mini which we bought specifically for use on holidays as it is small enough for the OH handbag and quite light but robust. It's actually in daily use and has all but replaced the laptop. However I would not consider a tablet as a replacement for the laptop for serious computer work, using Office etc.
Thank you for taking the time to reply your comments are greatly appreciated ,trouble is with my sausage fingers its prob best to go for a larger screen, thanks again
After a long time of wondering how the heck tablets every became popular I bought a 7" Samsung for xmas last year. I have big "sausage fingers" as well and, yes i do make some typing errors, but not as many as I thought I would. I use it for reading, watching video, suurfing etc. i would admit thought I would not be able to do my job on it.
------------- It'll work out in the end!!!!
I didn't do it !! Nobody saw me do it !! You can't prove anything !!
Mine is supplied by my employer and I can't do my job on it lol!
For example.. Email received with attached word document that has revisions nd comments in it ... Had to open attachment on netbook as iPad only displays the "final" version, and I can't edit he attachment on it anyway.
