When my children were at Primary School in the 1980's they sang a song which was about going on holiday. It went something like 'I couldn't fasten my suitcase, I'd put so much inside' And went on 'my father said, take out the garden shed and try again'.
I'd love to find the lyrics, and tune as well if possible.

This has got me thinking all day, the only song that is going around(annoyingly!)in my head is the 'we're going to Ibiza' song if anyone can remember this, I have a feeling that this is a 90's song as I was a fairly odd 80's person!

In the 90s we sang a song called "Lazy Days" about going on holiday but it didn't have those lyrics in it.

Yes, it was a No.1 hit for the Vengaboys in 1999 but was actually a rehash of (We're going to) Barbados which was a No.1 for Typically Tropical in 1975.
I've asked my son if he ever sang the song the op is asking about but he said he's never heard of it, though he did ask if anyone in primary school in the 80s ever sang 'Whose pigs are these'. That was one of those silly songs that always made him laugh and even now it still amuses him.
