Nice excuse - I bet they've never heard that one before!

How can you just forget ? You go into a shop to buy something or you go into it with the intention of not paying. Not exactly much to remember, select item, pay for item, leave.

I once walked out of Debenhams with two pairs of shorts on the pram handle. I was just folding the pram up to put in the car when I found them. I practically ran back to Debenhams with them as I was so scared I would be accused of shoplifting.
I have also filled my car with petrol and gone without paying. I had even had my tea when I remembered. I quickly drove back to the garage to pay.It was before the days of cameras on forecourts and the young lad was so pleased. He said that the owners of the garage would have taken the cost out of his pay.

Ninja...Could she just have had a moment of forgetfulness? It does happen.

I can remember walking out of Woolies and spotting a pair of baby socks attached to my scarf - went straight back in, mortified. The security guard just laughed and put them back for me.
When Alice was little I had taken her into the local shop in her pram, took her out at home complete with the ant killer that she had picked up.   When I took it back the lady just said thank you - she knew how I felt, and said that most people would not have been honest enough to come back.

On the other side - I can remember being in a local shop and spotted two that I knew were shop lifters, as they had tried to sell stuff to me when I was at one of dad's clients. Both were feeding a drug habit, and she had told be that he distracted while she lifted. I quietly said to the old dear behind the counter - watch her not him, only to be told it was him that needed watching. Needless to say I say them later selling the boxes of chocolates that they had nicked.   Ah well what did I know.

Anlo,

Don't leave your 'friend' alone in your house....

A thief is a thief and will take any opportunity to avail themselves of shiny things...Bit like Magpies.

They will make any excuse to justify their actions but basically they are just untrustworthy thieving scumbags.

Vote for me.

Every day is a gift..That's why it's called the present.

Nostalgia is not what it used to be.

Stressed is just 'Desserts' spelt backwards

The op got their answer in the first 2 posts. The rest is the usual 'trial by internet jury'...
