We are only 16miles away and lived here for 12yrs now, we only have 7 immediate neighbours the only ones that are weird are the two that are local the other 5 are fine, the two local families they have never lived anywhere else but in the village are a nightmare, they think they own every scrap of land around the houses, park illegally take pictures of us walking our dog up the field or just stand and stare at us, wheel spin on the gravel car park and have damaged my tyre with a screw.

Hmmmm. I get the feeling we are watched coming and going by the neighbours opposite. So I made sure I put the bin out in my nightie. DH was appalled!

There are certainly some "odd" people about round here!

Thanks for all the replies, we had a church mag come through the door and its got a load of ads in it. From that we've booked a painter and decorator and someone to sort out the garden.

The painter also recommended a builder that we does some work for, so we're slowly getting sorted.

I took the kids for a bimble round Downham Market today. It seems nice there, not very big and not a big shopping metropolis but quaint and not very busy. The kids managed to have a conversation with everyone they came across and most seemed quite nice.

I have a feeling that once we're settled more, I could get to quite like it here!

Got a few like that here too. They tend to be from large families who don't get out much so the gene pool doesn't get distributed around.

Forget themsrket just go to tescos talk aout a strange place the toilet s entract has a huge padlock at the top of the door u would need a ladder to unlock it, if they dont want people to use them why noy just close them. When I asked why was told because of the weird people and wholesale pincing. And no one knows how to park just drive in an leave the car anywhere forget about parking bays.

If you want to see the odd ones spend 5mins in tesco or the really weird try asda which the police wanted closing down because the theiving was out of control and they did not feel safe going there

Thanks for that. We need a new oil tank as our current one is leaning against our garage wall!

It's quite nice exploring a new area really! We're in Outwell but sadly not on the river!

I know we all have accents and different ways of pronouncing things, but when I arrived here I kept hearing people were cooing for things, it took me ages to realise that they meant queuing, and a few is a foo and computer has turned into compooter. So you can now spot a local.

There is a smashing campsite at Stiffkey (Stukey) and then there is always Happisburgh (Hazebruh)

Welcome to Norfolk, most of the beaches are as good as the west country but you don't get the crowds. It is dryer here as well, but the easterly winds can be a bit brisk.

Have you been to Brancaster or Holkham yet, miles and miles of beach, great if you have dogs and not too far away from you.

Like the rest of us, once you get used to the flatness you'll grow to love it.
