All site workers must have cscs cards, different cards for different levels of job eg manager, labourer, cost about £40 have to do a test and pass to get your card, think legally not allowed to go on any site without one

Think you are so right . Im kinda glad i had to give up my landscaping business .
Me and my manager did a risk assessment of a days garden maintenance round . Basically it shouldn't be done. Far to risky . How does any thing get done in this country any more .

Our guys at work have to have them and they are specialist mirror fitters. As far as im aware anyone working in the construction industry ( on site) has to have them. It's yet another health and safety standard.

nail on head (anyone) even those that clean up the site need one. just to walk on to the site.

it was more to do with cowboy builders than health and safety when it first came out now its a competence test

I dont understand how sitting at a computer for half an hour and paying £40 can prove that ANYONE is competant at ANYTHING. Lets face it, ANYONE could sit the test for ANYONE else

You need ID.... and the first thing they do when you get to the test centre is take your piccy.... it's a photo card!!!

Oh.... and once in the room, there is no talking, or going anywhere other than your designated booth! They watch you like hawks, and if you break the rules, you forfeit the test.... but not the fee, of course!!
