Have you tried a TENS machine? I suffer with my back and so does my sister. She has mentioned how much tens machine works for her a couple of times and I've always been a sceptic. However, over the weekend, I've had a really bad bout with my back and got to the point that I would have tried anything. So........ Off I go to the local Tesco Extra, driven by OH as I couldn't drive. Returned home 40 minutes and £40 lighter and hooked myself up. Had it on from 3:30 pm till 10pm and then took it off for bed. I WAS AMAZED!! There was still some pain but certainly not anything like it was.............. And I managed to walk upstairs upright. Got a great nights sleep I woke up at 5:00am in considerable pain again so stuck it back on, did my usual routine of school runs etc and switched it off at about 11am. That afternoon, I ran up and down stairs, pegged washing out, could bend and straighten nearly normally. Didn't have to switch it back on till nearly tea time and left it on till bed time. I've not even put it on today.
Might be worth a try, I wouldn't have believed it had I not tried it myself best £40 ever spent. Did go on amazon and the same one was £26 but at this point I don't care it was well worth the extra to have it instantly. Had I known just how much it was going to help I would have paid double!
Thought it would be worth a post on its own if it can help others  they can help with all sorts of pain....... Arthritis, carpel tunnel, per menstrual cramps etc etc well worth a try
