I wonder? how many times have humans woken up and urgently needed a pee on a site and nipped outside in the dark in sheer desperation? How many have actually followed up this urgent need by diluting the area peed on afterwards?

To take this a step further - how many humans when caught short with no. 2s in the back of beyond clear up after themselves? Did you know that human excrement can and does kill livestock and pollute water-courses? Seems that it's more than that warden that needs an education.

I jest not....still on site and all dog owners here are taking the warden's actions with a pinch of salt. He has told two women off as we know and they weren't very happy. Both dogs piddled on the path. We are all trying(very trying) to make our dogs understand but it seems to be falling on deaf ears. My own little dog is now playing up. Went for a walk for an hour, late on last night and she decided to perform once we were back on site. That was just taking the p.... !!! I've told her off but she doesn't seem to understand. One can get quite neurotic over this.

Not all sites allow dogs & if this one didn't then you wouldn't use it. Clearly dogs are not welcomed, just 'limitedly tolerated'. So the answer really is to use a site that welcomes dog owners rather than one that appears to be discouraging them.

I think the warden is taking the P.       You can't lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

You  can take a dog for a p,  but you can't make it p on q.    Poor you path.       This  is funny.   I can imagine the warden asking  people to carry a bowl, to stick under the dog to do it's p.

Watch it some people on here may think it will be a good idea.   Poo slings and nappies.

hahahahaha.

Just thought, will you be using the site again.   lol

Someone expects you to be telepathic and only use sites which are dog friendly.   Which is fine when they do not allow dogs.

How on earth can anyone distinguish sites from those which welcomes dogs from those, appear to discourage them.

I've watched this thread with interest. We have four dogs and apart from the very odd accident were we've risen later than normal and one of the bitches is desperate for a wee, ours will wait until we are off site or on dedicated dog walk on site to do their business.

It is infact very easy to teach a dog to go to the toilet on command. Think of all the service dogs who need to be focused on the task in hand.

I show mine, race them and lure course them as well as take them ferreting. All these activities call for an empty bladder at the very least in order for them to be comfortable enough to perform.

As puppies, when they are taken out to go to the toilet, as they do either a wee or poo they are told 'be clean' every single time and then given loads of praise as they finish up. Many words can be used, be quick, do your business etc. it's not what you say, but how you say it and being consistent EVERY time.

Now, I put on all their leads and set off walking and once in the correct place I tell them to 'be clean' and away they all go.

I have to say that I would have given the warden a piece of my mind if anyone had moaned if one of mine had wee'd whilst being on site. Some of the things I've seen humans and children do are much worse than that and the odd wee is completely inoffensive. Unless it's up the side of something someone owns and then that is unforgivable. No one should allow their dogs anywhere near anyone else's pitch to be able to go to the toilet there.

TCx

We will not be using this site for a while Heath. Will give it a miss for a couple of years or so. We can do without the hassle. The warden will have done what he intended, discouraged dogs.
Our little dog can wee and poo on demand and quite often on the doggie walk but sometimes she can't make it. Then other times she's just not ready or plain awkward.

Well if it was me I'd be sending a letter of complaint to the Caravan Club as it's one of their sites. Making sure everyone's poo picking's one thing, telling you off for your dog having a wee onsite is another!

Mine will wee on command.   That's in the garden.   While camping, I have to distract him  now and again until we reached the doggie walk.

Normally he's pretty good.
