Piriton doesn't work in dogs as it does in humans, almost 100% of humans react in the same way with it but dogs vary greatly, some it just doesn't help at all.
May save money but anyone with an itchy dogs should really first pop along to the vet as they may have a better solution or a reason they don't recommend them for your particular dog.
We had a dog with allergies unfortunately no longer with us,but we gave him Galpharm anti-hystamine at 59p from home bargains until spring and branded through spring and summer, and he was fine.

My dog has allergies to dust mites, storage mites and just about every sort of pollen. He is on Tavegil 1mg once or twice a day depending on how itchy he is. My vet charges £1.25 per tablet, £75 for a months supply. I have just bought the exact tablets online as over the counter drugs for myself for £6 a box of 60.
My Norman seems to be allergic to July/ August!!
Every year he itches and scratches until his skin looks sore, the vet prescribes anti histamines and a wash and charges me 70 quid for the privilege!
What dose of piriton
would he need, medium to large size dog?
