happy bday Sooty.....i love sooty, always asked father christmas for one when i was little but must of been a naughty girl as never got one....now ive got sooty, sweep and sue, husband got them me for christmas a couple of years ago.....

Aw my kids love sooty and have lots of DVDs - just shows the oldies are the best as they much prefer Matthew Corbett to Richard Cadell as they fall about laughing to Matthew but well done Richard for keeping Sooty going outside the Corbett family!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOOTY!

Matthew's brother, Sooty's 'uncle' , lived here in the Wyre Forest District and was a headmaster of a local middle school for many years.

I had the honour of meeting Sooty and Sweep, and of course Matthew Corbett, more than half a century ago in Southport. Lovely ted, lovely dog and lovely man! Very happy memories.



My kids loved them too, in the 'Matthew' years and beyond. I love Soo's feisty spirit - a great role model for girls everywhere. I love Sooty's wickedness, but I must admit, Sweep was always my favourite. His brand of anarchic yet innocent humour just hits the spot!

I loved Sooty as a kid - my Mum told me once that she walked into the lounge once to find me hiding behind the sofa (Sooty was on the tv) and I was scared of the Black Hand.
