Yep Bosch here too. The pump did go on mine, I can't remember how many years we'd had it by then, but I got a non Bosch replacement for less than £30 and thus it lives on.

Went collected ours had to have one the same day my old one died, then the following week collected another one for the daughter as hers died so she got the same one and she is quite happy with hers.

All I can offer is that after dumping dirty clothes next to what I believe is the washer they appear clean later on the table, so I can confidently say yes ours works,

Fair enough, Robin, but for me to collect would add £100 to the cost (largely fuel and ferry fares) plus disposal of old unit. Not bitching as it's a great place to live but does come with certain inconveniences!! And I know I'm a bit of a bore about delivery charges but they can be horrendous.

Been looking at John Lewis site and if can sort delivery, think will have to bite the bullet. Bosch it is.

I have used Indesit for years. don't forget to take the drum out of the old one....makes a great firepit

i always say ebay the old one. someone will pay you money and take it away. use this money to offset the price of the new one. you just have to look at the prices of broken machines on ebay.

Had a zanussi for 11 years and a Bosch for seven. Pleased with both. I found the zanussi to be quicker in programme times (the Bosch is an hour on the quick 30deg programme), but this may have changed since I had mine.
