Same at the end of each season with go and tent accessories, they buy only so many for entire year and then sell them off at a discounted rate or in a sale mid season. They will replenish stock with 2014 tents due Sept/Oct.
TBF, G.O. are not alone in this. Many retailers will now have low/no stock of popular items.
The brands source production and specify timings so as to receive stock in the UK and release to retailers for the next camping season.
Brands, and therefore shops, may or may not receive further stocks till the cycle starts again.
At this time of year supplies of big selling items will be well reduced/gone. On the other hand, if retailers have stock left, they may be offering good prices.
It's a dilemma. Do we buy when new stock is in to be certain of availability, but at a price, or wait till sales come and take a chance on availability?

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it
Yes I could ring them Mike, but why should I pay an out of town phone call when they clearly offer a contact form on their website? They have sold me a chair that after only a few day's use has broken, a rivet on the top just sheered off, not happy at all. As my nearest Go is a 150 mile round trip there is no way i can just pop in to ask for a refund or exchange, so I was hoping, silly maybe, that there customer service might have at least offered me a response!

So....if phoning was the only means of contact that was offered, would you phone 'em then?
(..or would you still not want to make an "out of town phone call"? )
Not sure what you're hinting at with the quotation, but yes, if there was no online form I would ring them but like i said if there is an online form i will use that, can't see the point of having one if you're not going to respond to any queries, can't help thinking if I'd have been enquiring about spending £1300 on a tent they'd have been fast enough to respond!
I shall give them another couple of days and if still no response I shall ring them, adding my disappointment at their non-response to online query to my complaint.

Understood Tracey. I'm the same. If there's an online contact option I'll use that every time rather than ring. If there's no response, I email the CEO.
Agree Tracey, contact form each time, they want your business and repeat business. And in many cases it is easier to put what you want in writing and then let them go investigate and come back with the facts. If you call them you waste time, they go away, you end up calling again to chase, they go away, etc, etc..
Nearly made a purchase from Go - once - but having read all the horror stories I did not and have not, prefer our local independant camping shop

Nick, you're lucky if you have a local independant. Don't assume people posting here with complaints reflect the *normal* experience. I have bought many, many times from G.O., instore and online, without issue, and with some incredible prices.

Been in Go today and there was tumble weed blowing down the tent row! This time last year you couldn't move for tents. The good weather has definitely produced more campers this year.
We've shopped at Go many, many times and (touch wood) we have never had a problem yet.
I do agree with Tracey though, what is the point of having a 'contact us' option on the website if they are not going to reply.
Mike, the experience was that what a friend had and then I googled them.
Agree, very lucky we have an independent close by, infact they have opened up a second shop in the last year so we went along and bought some stuff (hard not to!) from there as well to support them
I assume there are people happy with Go or they would of Gone

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I have used Go on several occasions and never had a problem, but unfortunately if this isn't rectified I won't be using them again.
Mike, thanks for the CEO tip, I shall try that in the next couple of days if I get no response.
