A five minute call on the mobile to get the dogs feeding requirements would put your mind at rest.
They surely couldn't complain at you wanting to look after their dog, considering they went off on hols and never left instructions.

As I said they did not take phones they are very private people, and were under the impression that leaving food and their vet's details all would be well. I think I've sorted him now I got some dry food and he won't be geting the portions they recommend on tin!. He's getting biscuits and chicken tonight (not Chicken Tonight !)
