My mum in law took a dress to be dry cleaned as it had a grease mark on it. When she got the dress back it didn't look as if the dress had been touched and the mark was still on. They claimed that it didn't work.
I gave her some Stain remover and told her to put the dress in a pillow case and put it in the washing machine on 40 and guess what the stain came out.
Surely if the dress had of been dry cleaned properly in the first place the stain would have come out.I have watched on you tube how dry cleaning is done and if they had the right chemicals it would have come out.
I have a good mind to take the dress with the paperwork back to the shop and ask them for a refund, what do you think i should do.

I have had dry clean only in the past and unless its definitely got to be carefully cleaned I put it in the washing machine on a hand wash. once it had been done a few times it was OK to do it on a more ordinary wash.

I've got a warm winter jacket that resembles wool, it says dry clean only, yeah right, I chuck it in the washing machine on a wool wash, fabric softener, give it a good shake and hang it to dry on a padded hanger. Always looks brand new. I think they just put labels in to make people spend pounds at the cleaners.
