Perhaps it's good it happened now, I am 30 on Monday, so perhaps it's a good bye to my twenties, and a start of a whole new chapter,

You are still younger than when i got married or even got with my wife so plenty to be positive about imho.Dont let the negativity of it all eat you up and be straight up with your kids.

If you can let it go and move forward your life will be good again, maybe not now but it will get better i promise.

I remember how hard it was splitting with a longterm girlfriend at 32 and thinking what a disaster it was as i had still not started a family and felt i was starting from scratch again. In fact it was a blessing looking back.

It wont be easy and its the silly things that will knock you back (you never see them coming either) but it gets better.
You will over analyse in your head what you did wrong, doubt yourself, feel worthless some days etc etc.

Its all normal and how we as humans deal with emotional stress like this.

One door shuts another one opens, keep that in mind, it will give you strength and is very true.

Thanks everyone, you are all soo lovely.

A lads weekend in Amsterdam wouldn't work I am afraid as I don't have that many lad friends, most of my friends even from school have always been female.

I am going out tomorrow night with a huge group of friends as a joint birthday celebration with a friend from school and I fully intend to enjoy myself and forget it all for an evening and enjoy being with my friends. Who have all been amazing

We had booked a weekend away in the van with some other friends but I have cancelled, need to give the motorhome a steam clean and disinfect as she used to take it to work on occasions if her car was off the road or to give the van a run occasionally and who knows who she has had in there

I am glad I am still young, still in my twenties til Monday at least lol

Without meaning to cause upset, you may wish to get yourself tested for STI's. This really should be the first thing you organise.

Secondly, if you have a joint account you should close this asap so she can't clear it out.

Good luck, and gentle hugs. You are still so young (yes you are) you have years and years ahead of you yet.

And a dignified silence is way classier than a tit for tat slanging match, especially infront of the kids. (Not saying you would, but its easy to get drawn into things).
Take care.
