Heard on the news there is a storm heading our way.Rain and winds between 50/70 gusts.Anybody think that some times they are just scare mongering or have they got it right ?
I think sometimes after the famous "Micheal Fish" incident if they see bad weather coming they predict a worst case scenario...If it does not materialize they have covered themselves"Just in Case" If it does...they were spot on....
It is a prediction after all...Not the gospel truth....

Just had a look at xcweather and the average is in the 30ies gusting to 50mph - friends on opposite side of the island are looking at high 40ies gusting to 60mph.Main worry is that the trees are still in full leaf and there's two next to us that are really dodgey. Still if they do come down with the wind direction it's supposed to be coming from we should be okay.

Well out here in The Fens where wind is always about somewhere or other we have woken to a chilly morning,
but lovely sunshine, so pleased as the nearest market (Whittlesey) has it's festival today, spitfire flyovers and all sorts occurring.
According to the BBC Scotland weather forecast, the worst winds will be in the west. It should not be too bad in the central belt and east. Certainly nothing that we are not used to in the windy "city" which is Forth.
The trouble with the UK forecast is that they treat Scotland like a county instead of a Country.
