Hello

My girlfriend just called to say our Punto 1.2 8v failed to start. Has a "Cam Check" error message on the CD Display......I suspect faulty cam belt, but anyone actually know what it is?

If you google 'Cancheck'error there are lots of answers, nothing to do with Cam belt but more a wiring issue, have you changed the stereo?

Could be a number of things - cam position sensor, crank position sensor, wiring, bad earths.
Best thing to do is get the ecu "read" for faults, the codes will give you a clue where to look.
Modern cars have so many electronic systems that a code read is the first thing to do.
