Yes, they should view before offering/committing to purchase on eBay.
If they turn up and waste your time, the only option is to open a case against them with eBay for a non paying bidder.

It may be a genuine offer. when we bought our first caravan many years ago it was in Yorkshire and we were in Essex . when we were bidding we were in constant contact with the seller, and he was the one who said that if you don't find it as I've described it you can walk away. Needless to say it was a fantastic van and in excellent condition and made the long drive worth it.

I don't understand why you are relisting it before they have been to see it. why do you assume they will offer you less? it's yours to sell, so if they don't play ball, walk away. You would have done nothing wrong, I would then report them to ebay, and then perhaps get it delisted for free.

Our crusader is on a classified ad on there too.

Hope it goes ok, really want ours to sell as going to the caravan show next week.

Thanks for your replies, fingers crossed all will be fine.a part from requesting extra photos and making us an offer the buyer never once mentioned coming to view which I find strange due to the value of the item and they are less than an hour from us. Hopefully they will come and view it today.

The buyer appears to have said he will pay the agreed price provided camper is as described in your ad, you can hardly expect him to pay that if it is not. Sellers frequently describe items are in top condition when they are not & buyers will find fault & make derisory offers, nobody said selling was easy. I don't blame the buyer for not wanting to make 2 trips, one trip bringing cash is all both of you want.

What you don't need to do is put potential buyers off who may well be arriving with £20 notes. Its not a good time of year to be selling folding campers. If he don't turn up you will know why. The customer is always king, you don't have to accept less than the price you want but at least be prepared to negotiate if you want a sale.

we had someone contact us through preloved. she made an offer, 1k less than we were asking, we told her we were in no hurry to sell and we feel we had priced it to sell already. she then came back with £500 less than we were asking which we said we would be happy to do a deal at, then she retracted back to 1k less again, needless to say the conversation ended there!

The trouble is as said before, it's the wrong time to sell, so we will hang out until the spring if necessary. Obviously the more money we get, the more to go towards a new van. If we can't sell it, I'm not too worried as I love it anyway, just thought a van would give us a longer season! as we both have to work weekends! OH does rolling shifts continuous nights,

Hopefully we will both find buyers soon.
