All that you are legally entitled to is one weeks notice I am afraid. There will be no statutory redundancy pay because you have been employed by the company for less than two years. Your contract of employment may have different provisions but that may be unlikely. Best option may be to thank your Boss for the job and wish him well in the future and just say that if he finds that he may need some more staff later on you would love to come back. Better to keep your options open and leave a positive impressio nwith your Boss....you never know Phil

Hi Suns, sorry to hear that you have been potted, it has happened to me around 5 times since starting work back in 1976!.
Anyway onward and upward, the only real answer is to work for yourself and become self employed, although I am far to lazy to do that.
So if you are anything like me, you will soon find another job, were you can do as little as possible for as much as possible.
Don't get me wrong I am a hard worker, but only relative to what I am paid and what the long term prospects are of the job.
I meet so many folk who are just so precious over there pathetic little job, when what they really need to be doing is waking up and smelling the coffee.
At the end of the day it's just one big game, so play it your way, not there way.
