Best to look on advice from a financial adviser as a product. You will have to pay for it, why would anyone give you something for nothing. If you get a good financial adviser it will pay you in the longer term.
These are professional people who are well trained and have liability for selling and are accountable.
If they get you a product it will probably be better than one you could get yourself as you are just a small investor. They can shop around and consider your needs and circumstances. You can get advice free you do not have to take what is offered.
