A broken coated JRT has a thick undercoat and a long top coat - she looks like a miniature long-coated border collie (in fact, she has been mistaken for a border collie puppy on several occasions)!  Her coat is very different to either the smooth or wire-haired JRTs you see - I've only ever seen one other similar coat (on a JRT belonging to a friend who has had the breed all her life - it's the only reason I know Bob's is called 'broken'!!). 

Bob's fur is particularly thick in a line down her back from her scruff to the base of her tail (scruff and base of tail - which never stops wagging - take the most brushing!) - I get more fur from this strip with one sweep of the brush than comes off the the rest of her put together!!
