I have just picked up my copy from the village shop. I've managed to sit for 10 minutes and flick through it. My overall impression is..... What a load of old rubbish! Appart from the usual suspects that appear every Christmas, there is nothing on really worth watching. Looks like all I've got to look forward to on the big day is 'Call the Midwife' and 'Corrie'. Hope I get some man sized tissues in my stocking for the anticipated tears n snot!

One or two new Xmas specials might b worth a look....Bad Education, open all hours, Educating Yorkshire, Downton, and the Inbetweeners film is being shown. If you're under 50 you might find it a hoot. I hear Toy Story three is pretty decent too.

Christmas or not I wonder what our licence money goes on. Every channel seems to be showing repeats. Is there no talent and light entertainment any more? I suppose the actors and entertainers only have to make a couple of programmes and then sit with their feet up at home and wait for the royalties to pour in!

I am seriously considering doing away with my TV subscription, I watch everything on catch up as it is. Least then I wouldn't have to pay my TV license fee.

Already started downloading my Xmas play list in anticipation of a load of old tat on the gogglebox.

Speaking of which, does anyone watch that? Gogglebox wednesday nights HILARIOUS and currently the best thing on TV

Never have the time to watch TV over Christmas. We are too busy with family and visiting the neighbours so don't even bother checking the TV schedule. Anyway most of it is probably repeated later on in the year.

Looks like I'll be spending whatever spare time I have over Christmas transferring all those decent programmes from years from video to CD - should have done it years ago.

I got my Radio Times yesterday, too. I go through it each week and highlight everything I might want to watch - if I don't, I miss anything half decent, and there's not a lot half decent on over the next couple of weeks.

How many versions of A Christmas Carol can they rustle up? I think they're all on this year, including the old Alistair Simm version, and most of them on more than once.
