As a wife of a husband that also works in peoples houses i've read this thread to him and he has been in a similar scenario were he has shouted upstairs to no avail and knowing his strict timescales plus a tracker on the van to account for his whereabouts at all times and THEN being accountable for extra wasted time he could be on another job. Both our hearts go out to this poor guy, it's a sad sign of the times. I don't deem the guy as being in appropiate i deem the woman as wasting his time and to lodge a complaint she needs to live in the real world, Time really is money these days..
Hubby is asked on a regular basis by elderly people for a cuppa which invariably leads to a chat which he just can't do anymore and he's such a people person it's a shame, he doesn't mind doing work in that instance with people chatting to him.

Hubby was just telling me he's a sparky and was following day later a plumber and the young girl told him she was having a carpet fitted same time as a new boiler (hence the plumber) so she went upstairs out the way to feed her baby and get changed. She was in her bra and knickers and the apprentice plumber all of 17yrs old walked into the bedroom right past her saying i've just got to bleed your radiator. She never complained she said she didn't know who was more shocked him or her lol
