Any body had a repair done to their tablet charging port. I'm trying to decide if is better to get it repaired or just cut my loses and upgrade to a better spec and screen size. If anyone has had the problem repaired can they give me an idea of the cost so I can decide what to do.
You haven't mentioned what your tablet is. If it's an expensive tablet and not too old then probably better to get a repair or at least an estimate. If it's a cheap 7 inch tablet then it's not worth repairing since new ones can be had for less than £100. My guess is that any tablet repair will be expensive.
a friend of mine broke their charger port on their Arnova tablet....it was going to cost £90 to repair, but a new one at the time (about 12 months ago) was £120
it all depends on the make, where it has to be sent to, and if it can be done locally etc.
you might find it better to sell it on ebay for spares/repair and buy a new one.
Thanks for the replies. I,ve been quoted a price of £90 for the repair. Its worth about £149 so probably not worth it so I have upgraded to a better spec.
Update... I just found out that it has 2 year warranty. I,ve e mailed the manufacturer to see about getting it repaired. It will be interesting to see if they honour the warranty with out giving me a load of hassle!

Late reply I know, but this is the sort of thing I do for a living. It's hard to quote without knowing tablet details but, the most expensive tablet port repair I've done I charged £65 for, cheapest was £30.. So they can vary a fair bit.
